Looking for ideas on how to get on that luxury kids and teens bedroom trend without breaking the bank? We got you. Listen up, school's *in* for summer.
It's a trend we saw coming a mile off after the lockdowns - all of us spending much more time at home, staring at our same old boring four walls, and deciding that actually, we'd quite like to live in a bit more luxury. We're seeing a huge uplift in luxury living decor in bedrooms - why wouldn't we want the place we go to for rest and relaxation to feel like a little bit of heaven? And our kids (especially our teens) spend a much bigger chunk of their time in their rooms.
The demand for luxury beds and furnishings at Furniturebox HQ are on the up. Our customers are tagging us in kids' and teen room renovations on their home accounts. So, we thought we'd share some inspiration and ideas on how to glam up the kid's room with some of our budget-friendly but gorgeous pieces.
So, let's break down how to get in on the action.
Check our how our stunning Manhattan grey velvet bed has been styled by two of our customers here, creating beautiful statement rooms for their daughters. We love the princess curtains and sparkly tree decals!
We're pulled together some moodboards featuring some of our other popular luxury single beds for some ideas in styling, colour and themes for younger kids.
Create a super modern futuristic room with some cool neon lighting behind the bed. Our Kingston grey crushed velvet roll-top single bedframe (other sizes available!) would look great in this kind of room.
Create a room full of magic with glitter moons and stars. Add a tent and fairy lights for reading, naps and all the make-believe. Our Vienna upholstered Chesterfield style single bedframe in cream (other colours and sizes available!) is just the job for a room like this.
I don't know about you but upgrading from a single bed to a double was a big deal for me when I was younger! It was a real growing-up milestone. Double beds have the added benefit of having more room to hide clutter under! Teens these days aren't all about toys and zany colours; many want something that looks and feels adult. Here, two of our customers show how they've created gorgeous luxury double bedrooms in two different styles but with some common factors. A bit of glitz or more subtle rustic touches along with a statement bed can really elevate your teen's bedroom.
And here, we're made up some more mood boards to give you some style inspiration for some of our other popular statement double beds!
Get in on that Barbie-core trend with hot and pastel pinks, creams and glitzy silver. Here's our Kensington Double Ottoman Bed in Heather coloured Velvet and our Olympus Large Silver Modern Mirror.
The denim and wood industrial look is full of cool teenage vibes. Get this with our Avery Double Frame Bed which looks great paired with warm wood tones, for that 'jeans and record-store' feel.
It doesn't all have to be about huge velvet-glad statement beds. Our budget-friendly Azure solid pine beds (in grey and white) can still feature in a luxury bedroom! Check out these different room styles all featuring the same bed design. Plus, these beds have the option of additional under-bed drawers on wheels for that much needed extra storage.
To wrap up, here are some of our favourite statement beds, the building block of any luxury room for your kids with some colour palettes and themes, and accessories we think really go well together. Feeling inspired?
An artsy, boho dream. Featuring our 'Manhattan' Art Deco Velvet Bed Frame and Headboard in 'clay' pink. The 'Ava' Curved Frame Rectangular Wall Mirror, the 'Porto' Mirrored Bedside Table and the 'Dreams' Deep Shaggy Rug in Champagne.
Finish off with rose gold, silver and terracotta accessories, some dreamy voile curtains and lots of candles and fairy lights.
Here we've gone Industrial Scandi with our 'Emerson'Double Ottoman Bed in Ink Velvet, the Colby narrow desk with Halle chair, the Kinsley solid mango wood side table in the dark walnut-toned finish, the Boston lamp and Alberto light fixing, the Emma round wall mirror in black, and the Mystique Linea rug in grey.
These products are all unfussy, featuring lots of straight lines and simple shapes. It'd look great against cream walls and bleached wood floors. A few cement pots for succulents and some hanging greenery will really nail that industrial minimalist look.
And here's our take on the ever-popular grey homes trend. Try introducing a few pops of mustard yellow and/or blue to make this style feel modern and youthful. Here, we're featuring our gorgeous Buckingham Silver Velvet Statement Winged Bed Frame with the Taylor bedside table in white, our very popular Cambridge desk / vanity with the matching Cambridge velvet-topped bench seat and our Calla chair in yellow velvet with silver legs. A simple wall mirror like our Emma round silver frame mirror and some bold contemporary art on the walls will finish this room off nicely.
