Round and oval tables seat six as well, though they work better in the middle of an open space than pushed to one side. Conversation flows more easily around a circular table since everyone faces the centre, which can make smaller gatherings feel less spread out. The trade-off is a slightly larger footprint. A 150 cm round table needs about 3.5 m of clearance in every direction. Oval tables have a similar footprint to rectangular tables.

Chairs That Suit Your Garden Furniture
Most 6-chairs-and-table sets come with matching chair styles, and which works best depends on how long people tend to sit outside at yours.

If your summer evenings involve lingering at the table with a drink, cushioned chairs or armchairs with a slightly reclined back are noticeably more comfortable over a couple of hours. If your favourite set doesn't include cushions, buying your own won't be a challenge.
Stacking and collapsible chairs are a practical option if space is limited. They are easy to store out of the way when you need the patio clear. Can I Leave the Set Outside All Year?
All our outdoor dining sets are rated for year-round outdoor use, but covering or storing them over winter will keep them looking newer for longer. Rattan-effect and powder-coated metal cope well with rain. If your set includes fabric cushions, bring those indoors during the wetter months to prevent mould and discolouration.
