Meet the Furniturebox experts behind the screen bringing you the best interiors and furniture blogs on the net (not that we're biased or anything...)
Laura Rich - Product Development Lead
Laura is our interiors guru! She's a former architectural illustrator and seasoned home renovator with 20 years of experience. She juggles life at Furniturebox alongside being a successful artist and knows a thing or two about colour, design and how to get the best out of any room on any budget. Footie lover, mum, and lead product developer making sure Furniturebox is always offering gorgeous on-trend styles for all budgets.
Favourite colour? "Blue (because I love big skies and big sea) but also because I find it calming."
Favourite interiors style / trend? "Newstalgia - mixing old with new. I love a good Facebook marketplace find alongside a beautifully clean modern piece of furniture, it adds texture and character."
Furniturebox top pick? "Currently (and it changes weekly), it's the Petra sofa. The fabric is recycled (from plastic bottles!) and I love the low lines and curves of it."
Alice Ewens - Senior Marketing Executive and Copywriter
Alice is our words wizard! A writer and poet outside of work with a love of bold colours and fun design. Alice spends most of her time thinking up the perfect words to inspire and encourage you to create your dream homes. A recent home renovator herself, she knows the power of some well-placed lamps and candles for turning a house into a home. Music nerd and top tea drinker!
Favourite colour? "I love bold, deep colours. Teals, burgundies, greens. At the moment, I'm loving burnt orange. It's very rich and warming, with a bit of a 70s rock and roll nod."
Favourite interiors style / trend? "Maximalism! I want my own home to look like a beautifully curated museum of well-chosen things. Lots of books, textures and complimentary colours can give a house lots of personality and character. As a writer, I'm always looking for the story in everything. A home is a story of its owner!"
Furniturebox top pick? "It's a toss-up between the Jolene burnt orange velvet sofa or the Danielle floor arc lamp."
Kayla Wilson - Head of Marketing
Kayla is the chief in charge of wrangling the marketing team - she definitely knows what's up in the furniture and interiors worlds. She's all about how to make an impact in your house or garden without stressing yourself out. Dog mum, plant collector and Tiktok cleaning vids addict. Kayla is a firm believer in the Furniturebox mission - dream homes for everyone, everywhere - and that there's a Schitt's Creek meme reaction for everything.
Favourite colour? "Forest green. It's somehow both calming and inspiring, like taking a walk in the forest."
Favourite interiors style / trend? "Urban jungle. Probably not surprising, given my fave colour is green! I just love having plants everywhere. Indoor plants have really become a big interiors trend and they can be a fantastic way to decorate any living space. They add vibrancy and texture, and can make even a smaller space feel really alive yet calming."
Furniturebox top pick? "Our Yoko large black mirror. It's designed to look like a window, so it taps into my love of bringing the outdoors in. It'll add a feeling of extra space to a room, and look amazing behind some big plants!"
Dan Beckles - Furniturebox co-founder and Director
Dan is one of Furniturebox's co-founders and is dedicated to bringing amazing furniture at affordable prices to the world! A keen football fan and our resident foodie. Dan's excellent fun fact is that, as a baby, he got through to the final stages of auditioning to be the Teletubbies sun! With a passion for excellent design that looks increasingly towards sustainable solutions, Dan believes everyone deserves to have a beautiful home that doesn't cost the earth. Also a dab hand at assembling any and all flat-pack dining chairs!
Favourite colour? "Teal! It straddles both blue and green so works really well with a lot of interior schemes."
Favourite interiors style / trend? "I'd say additional with a modern twist? Maybe some industrial elements? I really like a shaker-style kitchen with the wood floors, marble and brass accents and a warm colour (like teal!) to tie it together."
Furniturebox top pick? "At the moment, it's got to be the black Palma round dining table."
Monty George - Furniturebox co-founder and Managing Director
Monty is our other co-founder and, like Dan, spends his time keeping the Furniturebox ship sailing steady. He's been challenging the online furniture shopping world since he was 17, constantly looking for new ways to make furniture as accessible and easy as possible. Not one to take his foot off the pedal, Monty is also a big sports and fitness fan. He played semi-professional football when younger and now competes in Ironman triathlons. With a sharp eye for details, Monty has always known exactly what our customers are looking for and loves being able to help deliver that!
Favourite colour? "Blue. Every time."
Favourite interiors style / trend? "Boho / coastal. My life is pretty hectic so I like my surroundings to feel really relaxed and calming. The beach helps me to unwind and I enjoy being able to add touches of that to my home."
Furniturebox top pick? "The Ottilie mirror. It's a very simple design that brings a lot of light to a room and makes it feel bigger."
